Truancy Procedures for Unexcused Absences

As we wrap up the current school year and begin preparations for the 2025–26 school year, we want to make families aware of important attendance policies and updates to our district's attendance procedures. Regular attendance plays a vital role in student achievement and missing too many days can have a serious impact on academic performance and future success.These changes are designed to support students and families in developing and sustaining consistent attendance habits and ensure our students have the support they need to thrive.

1st Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through district'e electronic notification system.
2nd Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and Unexcused Absence Letter sent home.
3rd Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStats and parent/guardian and student (if necessary) must attend an Attendance Improvement Discussion with the school counselor.
4th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus.
5th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and parent/guardian and student (if necessary) will be required to attend a Pre-Early Warning Meeting with District Attendance Team.
6th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and meeting invite sent to Parent/Guardian and student (if required) to notify attendees of mandatory attendance at the Early Warning Meeting.
7th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and phone call from administrator.
8th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and parent/guardian and student (if necessary) will be required to attend a Truancy Warning Meeting with District Attendance Team.
9th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus.
10th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and Non-Compliance Letter mailed home.
11th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus.
12th Unexcused Absence - Parent/Guardian notified of absence through SchoolStatus and TRUANCY PETITION may be filed against parent/guardian and student (if necessary) with juvenile court system.
